Ritual Dance
Emma Desmedt organiseert Ritual Dance, begeleide dansrituelen waarin stilte, oogcontact en vrije dans in een veilig kader leiden tot verbinding en loslaten.
Over dit event
🕯️Welcome to Ritual Dance🕯️🙏
You are invited into a slow, embodied evening where movement, music and small rituals create a safe field to move, feel and meet — with no need to know how to dance. Come curious and unprepared: we welcome play, sensuality, depth and moments of joy. You don’t have to be flexible or have experience; simply arrive as you are, tune into your breath and sense what’s alive in you.
Take a gentle pause.
Close your eyes, breathe, feel. Notice a place in the body that feels awake — whatever shows up there, whether physical, emotional or energetic, is welcome. Allow those parts of the body to move however they want. Breathe, feel, open your eyes and reflect. Ask yourself: what is moving through me right now?
Program
- 19:00 arrival and welcome
- 19:30 opening circle
- 20:00 Ritual Dance with Andrew Leigh (facilitated in English)
- 21:45 closing the dance and time for sharing
Tickets & registration
Places are limited, so registration is required. We work on a sliding scale to keep the space accessible: Support(ing) €33, Standard €29, Support(ed) €25. If cost is a barrier, contact the organisers to discuss options. For an explanation of the sliding scale see: https://www.wortsandcunning.com/blog/sliding-scale
What Ritual Dance looks like
Ritual Dance gathers us in silence and invites us to move from that silence. We use eye contact, body language and the music as permission to enter spontaneous, free dance. The format draws from Ecstatic Dance and Ritual Play: we leave words behind, dance barefoot, drink only water and let the music hold the time and space. There is a defined field and a defined time in which you may step into the unknown and follow authentic impulses in relation to others.
