Ritual Dance

🕯️Welcome to Ritual Dance🕯️

You are invited into a held space to slow down, move and meet what is alive in you — no choreography, no expectations, just music, simple ritual and room to explore. We move with attention to breath, eye contact and the impulse to show up as we are. You do not need experience, flexibility or to ‘do it right’ — bring your curiosity and your presence.

We begin together: a gentle arrival and welcome at 19:00, a short opening circle at 19:30, then the Ritual Dance journey led by Andrew Leigh (facilitated in English) from 20:00. The music creates a field for spontaneous, barefoot dancing — we only drink water and follow the flow — and we close the dance around 21:45 with a sharing moment.

Registration is required because places are limited. Tickets are on a sliding scale so that dancing is accessible: Support(ing) €33, Standard €29, Support(ed) €25. Ritual Dance mixes elements of ecstatic dance and ritual play: we leave words behind, use body language and sound, make eye contact, and hold a demarcated space and time for authentic, often playful or tender encounters. Practical information:
- Where: inside the beautiful Blaisant church (Blaisantkerk) in Gent, at MARIA GORETTI, Blaisantvest 37.
- After you buy a ticket you will receive a follow-up mail with details; you may also start a discussion on the FB page if you have questions.

What to bring: wear comfortable dancing clothes, bring a water bottle, and bring your heart — all of who you are and what you are going through.

Spoken language: English will be the facilitated language; Dutch may be used to support those who need it.
