Creativity Lab

✨️ A practice space for expressing what words can't always reach.

Sometimes we try to understand ourselves by thinking harder. But not everything we know lives in words. What happens when you stop trying to make sense, make something beautiful, or get it right, and simply start creating?

Creativity Lab is a space to explore yourself through creative expression. Through playful relational exercises and an artistic practice (often collage) we'll slow down, notice what's present and give it a form. You might start with a feeling, a question, something happening in your life, or no idea at all. Images, colours, textures and unexpected associations can sometimes make visible something we hadn't yet been able to name.

The point isn't to make art. It's to create without focusing on the result, follow your curiosity, and see what emerges. No artistic skills or experience are needed.

✨️ Why creativity?

Creative expression can give us another way to relate to ourselves. It can help us express something when we feel overwhelmed or don't have the words. It can bring clarity to something we're experiencing. And sometimes it can simply reconnect us with play, spontaneity and the pleasure of making something. We often know more than we think we know. Creativity can be one way of finding out.

✨️ What happens in a Creativity Lab?

We'll usually begin with practices that help us arrive, connect with ourselves and sometimes connect with each other. From there, I'll introduce a creative invitation and we'll have time for individual exploration — using collage or another creative medium — followed by an opportunity to share and reflect on what emerged. There is no right interpretation of what you create, and you don't need to produce anything beautiful or meaningful.

✨️ The Labs at Tribalys

Creativity Lab is part of a series of four distinct Labs facilitated by Daphne on Wednesday evenings at Tribalys. Each Lab explores a different dimension of being human. Every Wednesday, two complementary Labs run back-to-back: Connection Lab followed by Touch Lab 1 week over 2. And Feelings Lab followed by Creativity Lab 1 week over 2.
